That 1909 AYPE up there is a real beauty! Here's a 1915 Panama Pacific Token, I'm not sure who made these I think it's a Hart's mini gold but not absolutely certain. When I first got it, I didn't even realize it had been polished as I was too excited, glad I sent it in for a grade! It's not perfect but it's rare!
Not the best pics. Maybe that’s why it didn’t sell when I posted it in the FS section last year for $825. On the bright side, since then, the metal alone is up about $67 over that $825.
Yes, the last one minted was Nancy Reagan in 2016. It was tied to the Presidential Dollar coin series. I do not know the details, but I assume that since George HW Bush was still alive until (last year?), that is why there were no further issues.
Okay, I know they were really popular when first issued and there used to be a collector on this forum who had them all. Haven't seen him around for awhile, and I forget his name as well!
Here's a 1905-S Liberty Head Half Eagle, yes lightly cleaned but with the price of gold going up daily, it's all gonna be alright! One cleaned coin isn't the end of the world~! Post em' if you got em'! Even ones you no longer own!! Take a look at what Robert Kiyosaki says in his video linked below, it was made in 2018. "Having Gold Near You Attracts More Wealth"
Here's a rare fractional gold Mexican Aztec Token featuring Cuauhtemoc. The Token itself is approximately 10mm and although it is made of 22k gold, it's a small amount at only .48 grams. I don't know what the final price was in the link below but years ago they used to sell for $15-$25. Now with the pog, nice and high, the price would be more. The reverse, shows the man sticking out his tongue but I couldn't get it in my pics, it's way too small! It shows in the link tho'! https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/aztec-mayan-indian-22kt-gold-calendar-1793713952
Here's another tiny one, terrible pics but they'll have to do as it's locked up! It's a tiny one but it was quite pricey!
Not a coin, but a medal - a large medal (2.5 inches) in 14K gold weighing 5.5 ounces (3 ounces if purified) made by Tiffany in 1952 for 20th Century Fox for Best Picture. These were awarded from 1920 to 1959, in gold, and are mostly in Studio archives. This one was given to the writer/producer and Oscar winner, Lamar Trotti's widow, as he passed away at 51, just before the film was released.
Nice story to go with the coin the only reason I paid to bring a Royals Royce Spur " glorified Lincoln" from friend in Maui was it had a story! I dream of Genie " Barbara Eden's car and bought by Universal Studio's. So you have a nice token with a nice story and gold near $1800 a nice reward! Thanks for sharing. Sometimes the stories better than the piece!!!
Nice medal up there, highly collectible! Here's one of my favorites, and my only Classic Heads! Unfortunately, Classic Heads are hard to find without details, unless you have deep pockets, which definitely is not me!
This was my horde as of a few days ago. But, the whole bottom row and the air-tites in the lower right corner all were sold at $1802-$1808, along with a couple of the slabs. More will get sold off soon. Why? Becuase I was finally more or less even on the deal, though it took nearly ten years to get there. And, I needed a way to raise a few tens of K to build a house. Mommas preggo with twins and the old bachelor pad is already crowded with just the 3 of us. Most if my silver bullion was dumped along with it. Might be an interesting thread topic as to what you can actually sell the stuff for.
