Howdy folks, Er, good luck trying to buy bullion in most any rational form. Both Apmex and Kitco are sold out of silver. I'm sure there is supply available - if you are willing to pay insane premiums. Everyone is going to the mattresses. Sorry as I wish it wasn't true. and so it goes, peace, rono
I've been extremely confused watching bullion prices plummet, even though demand for the physical sort seems to be picking up. Is this due to gold ETFS and such?
I, too, would like to know where this magical $12/oz silver is located. Maybe the market about to be flooded with dirt cheap pandas...
People in my city are buying up all the food, water, hand sanitizer, wipes, and TP. TP is money in this town. No one cares about PM's here. Scarest thing I have seen in a very long time.
The father of a girl I knew in school was a shoe repairman in our neighborhood. He came from Greece with $5 back in the late 40's. He saved and never spent a dime if not needed. I knew him and would visit his shop as a child just to talk and see how things were done. When he died many, many years later he had no money left. When the kids cleaned the house out they found thousands of dollars in paper money under the carpet in the Master Bedroom.
My great grandmother did the same thing. She was well off but went through the Depression. When she died and they were cleaning out her house, the found bills stuffed between the pages of almost every book she owned. They are sure there were things that got tossed that probably had money stuffed in them. Seems like we are getting back to those days real quick-like.
Our second daughter has been doing that since she could count. She bought her first house with cash and has never owed anyone a penny. She retired at 50 and has a nice little 10 acre place so far out that she cannot see another house. Some people can do that. It is very difficult.
I used to do that in my book collection. I used to store $50s between the pages .... then I'm figuring my ex found them. But my $50 collection is a good size again. whilst my ex has been in bankruptcy twice in the last 9 years.
We have managed to do pretty well in our family. I am the only income and have 3 kids and a wife to feed but we pay down our debt as fast as possible. By the time I retire from the Navy in 2ish years, the only thing we will owe any money on is our house. I wish we could pay that down but that won't happen any time soon.
I am complete newb in coin collecting and silver investing. I read the last time we had a recession, that silver dropped with the stock market initially, and then it took off? This might not be correct. Could it be that is why there is still a large mark up? Silver is under $12, but you can't buy it at that. Could it be the sellers that sell bullion holding it because it is about to go sky high?
I took us a long time with 6 kids and going to school at night. But, now I can say that everything I own is paid for and I can't think of one thing I don't know. Keep after it friend.
You were using the wrong kind of books. If you had hidden them in coin books they would have been safe!
Provident Metals are being ransacked too. All the 1oz and 10oz bars have a "notify me" button below the products
Apmex wants $900 for half an ounce of Platinum eagle. LOL ... my calculator broke figuring out the premium on that considering a FULL ounce is $600.
