I've found a hundred dollar bill, a twenty, ten, and several ones as well as loads of change. My favorite place to find change though is in the change return in vending machines. I check them all the time. For instance where I work, a can of soda will run you $0.75. Many of my coworkers I guess don't see the value of a quarter and leave it.
Not exactly the same, but in my 'broke days' I'd always find either beer or cheap wine money by firing up my old Tesoro Golden Sabre MD machine and hunting the local elementary school grounds. You might be surprised at all the clad quarters I found in less than an hour. ($3-5) J.T.
I always keep my eyes open for coins and currency on the ground, and have found quite a bit. I think my propensity to do so comes from growing up in the 40s and 50s, when we saved everything. Empty bottles went back to the store. Bacon grease was sold to the butchers. A penny went a lot further back then. LOL
@LuckyCoin, a few weeks ago you told me to keep checking the CoinStar machines (in Green Valley, AZ) and eventually I'd get lucky. Yep: last week got a zincoln and a Mexican 50 centavos. Woo hoo. About 3.5 cents richer! Funny how such a little thing can give me a thrill! Steve
