I know I saw it here somewhere but I cant seem to find it and I am sure one of you wise old (old in knowledge not necassarily in years) sages will point me in the right direction. I am looking for the mint numbers for the Silver Eagle production since 1986. Thanks in advance for any help. Paul
Click here, then choose your year. According to the Red Book, the earlier years were as follows: 1986 - 5,393,005 circulation, 1,446,778 proof 1987 - 11,442,335 circulation, 904,732 proof 1988 - 5,004,646 circulation, 557,370 proof 1989 - 5,203,327 circulation, 617,694 proof 1990 - 5,840,210 circulation, 695,510 proof 1991 - 7,191,066 circulation, 511,925 proof
Thank you that helps...sorry I didnt even think of a coin book... Guess I am not a "real coin person" but for some reason I am hooked on silver ealges, go figure. Thanks again for the info. paul
This subject got me looking at the US mint site. I'm able to find mintage # for circulating coins, but not for bullion coins, proof sets or some comm. coins. The Mint site is not so easy to get around IMO. I was hoping someone with more experience at this site could enlighten me.
Here is what I use: http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/american_eagles/index.cfm?flash=yes&action=MintageTotals
