So, what's your favorite type of silver you own?

I'm increasingly gravitating toward junk silver. I like coins over bars. And I like junk over government issued bullion. Government issued bullion is too pretty and too flawless, so you can't really handle it without marking it up. On the other hand, circulated American junk is already marked up and able to handled freely.

    How about you?

I actually enjoy both, usually I go for circulated silver for collecting tho. Numismatic and historical reasons.

Tableware . . . it returns value while you own it.

I have many miscellaneous foreign and US silver coins.
Also many metal detected silver objects and coins.
But these 2 items are my favorite from my collection -

I like the 4-12 oz Art Bars when I can get them at spot or nearly spot.

Junk Silver is great and for awhile it was all I wanted. Then I fell in Love with Silver Eagles. I like a balance of both.

I really enjoy my one ounce Silver World rounds. Silver eagles, Canadian maple leafs, English Brittanias, Australian kookaburra, kiwis, emus.
Chinese pandas etc, etc. I know I paid a fair premium over melt but I don't care because I enjoy them all.

To me this is a tough question. I own maybe 2-3,000 ounces of junk, (don't judge me that I don't know lol). So I basically stopped buying it, its too bulky. I still buy poured Englehard bars near melt if I find them, (they look cool), 1 ounce world coins with animals on them for the kids, (trying to get them interested), modern US commems near melt, (ditto for the kids).

To me, the answer is whatever trips your trigger. I do not mean that flippantly. If a person ENJOYS the bulk silver buy, they get some "collecting" value out of it while s/he is holding it. That is definitely worth something.

I bought a 10oz silver bar that I came across. It was manufactured by the Royal Canadian Mint and I think it's really cool. The problem is that I don't think I'll ever want to sell it.

I converted 20 trillion $1 bills batches to these. Saves a ton of space and no longer had to bury brinks trucks in my back yard. :)

    Let's see......4 troy ounces......20 trillion dollars......that's 5 trillion dollars per ounce.....and a toilet seat weighs a couple of pounds......that's about right!

Favorite - I still love my 10 oz RCM Tree of life coin. Great price - and darn near impossible to find after it was issued. In general, any American or Canadian silver coins.

Junk silver. Low premiums and easy to know it is real.
I have a couple hand poured bars and they are cool but hard to find at a reasonable price.
A dealer in my town sells most silver he gets in pretty near melt to maintain cash flow during these slow months of the year. So when the price is right I buy whatever I can from him.
