    The best hemiobol left no question as to its denomination. HM on reverse (but in greek there is no H so is this an eta or a local dialect?)
    UPDATE: The Greek for half was HMI with the long vowel eta. Perhaps we should be saying 'haymi' rather than hemi?

    The ancient greek word for it is "ημιωβόλιο". In English it should be pronounced as "imiovolio", putting the stress on the second "o" and all the "i"s in the word should be pronounced like in the word "string".

    I always have a good laugh when I hear auctioneers pronounce Abdera or Maroneia...

    I often see this type described as an obol, but at 0.37g, that doesn't seem quite right. Hemiobol?
