Welcome to Coin Talk. A USB microscope is what I believe you are referring to.

If you decide to go with a USB scope, make sure and get a good one and practice, practice, practice. They use LED's for lighting and pics can easily get washed out so you might need to learn some additional lighting skills. And it not all about zoom as pixelization can destroy an image if too much magnification is used. There are plenty of folks here who can help you on issues you run into when the time comes.

Actually I did not miss it by that much....... USB Digital Microscope is the same as a USB microscope. If you google it you will see that is the case.

I will probably be asking more questions when I get one. Plenty of time to learn as the winters are long here in MN. I'm just happy I found a new hobby

One of our members posted images using his USB microscope listed below, and for the price, I was very impressed with it. I'll see if I can find that thread.

Whatever you do, please don't buy one just because it is cheaper. Too many of them aren't worth it.

LOL. I had to re-look after your post because I thought I had posted something incorrect. Sorry for the misinterpretation. I retrospect it looks like you posted just a brief time after me. I suspect your response and mine hit the site very close in time.
