A disconcerting submission to NGC

I submitted a very original 1912 $10 Indian to NGC on 11/15/19 at Baltimore. This is a coin I think stands a decent chance of grading full gem because of how clean its surfaces are, and how obviously original it is, so I submitted it all by its lonesome.

After more than a week, I was alarmed enough at how long it was taking to appear as a submission on their website that I nearly emailed them to inquire as to its whereabouts, but decided to wait.

The coin finally appeared on the website the next day, so I felt much better at that point. Then, it expectedly took another several days to enter grading, followed by verification. I decided to check my grade today at lunchtime, and when I did, the submission tracking page hung for over 10 minutes before I gave up on it. Tonight I checked again, and this time there is no record of my coin, or even of my submission.

I've since emailed them, asking what is going on? Perhaps they're experiencing difficulties with their website, issues with their database, or maybe they've lost my submission?

I suppose I shouldn't worry over nothing, at least not until I know that it's not really nothing . . .

I believe they are just having issues with the website. Here is a post from an admin about the issue on their forums.

Don’t worry, Mike, they’re having technical issues. E.g. in the past 2 days I have not been able to add a coin to my registry set. I always get the following error message “The NGC database is experiencing technical difficulties”. There’s also an article on their website about it:

you coins are safe at NGC, don't worry. As soon as things are all fixed, you'll see your grade and maybe update us on what it got

I know, based on forum posts at NGC, that their website has been experiencing issues.

I'd also wager a guess, this is probably a very busy time for them. Things are probably going a little slow. I'm guessing a lot of dealers are submitting a lot of coins leading up to the "kick-off" of the next season, starting with FUN. I'd imagine a lot of dealers, like you, are submitting coins to get ready for their next selling opportunities.

Dena is a really cool lady. She has been a really important part of NGC for many years. She gets stuff done.

Yup. Same. Submission status has been either hanging or showing no submissions all day, and I have 7 submissions that were previously shown that I submitted at Baltimore.

It's too bad, then, that their entire IT staff seems to be negligently incompetent.

Nope . . . Even though they've finally informed me that they've shipped my coin back to me, I still can't find out what it graded.

That makes zero sense. Grades post when the coins ship. Right?
