Thanks guys. I thought I had read the Royal Mint minted this piece.

    Really awesome in hand!

What I find cool about it is how the original design fits in with his other designs. I never knew she was wearing a native headdress. Very interesting. :)

Call me crazy, but how does this medal have anything to do with the National Park Foundation?

    Ok, you're crazy.

From the internet. . . "Each 1oz Silver Winged Liberty High Relief Commemorative is certified Gem Proof by NGC and is officially authorized by the National Park Foundation on behalf of the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site."

So, I assume this means there was something (possibly license fee) in it for the National Park Foundation generally or the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site.

I'm not absolutely certain about this, but I think the EBay price at $165 is for the Gem Proof version rather than the PF70 Ultra Cam that I bought.

This one was a PF 70 that sold for 165. It was a low feedback seller and an auction, so I believe some money was left on the table. Likely 200+ is an average to target if listing on ebay (via buy-it-now).

Saint-Gaudens was a great artist and the coin is worth whatever you paid so long as you appreciate and enjoy it. Otherwise a painting by Leonardo is only worth the value of the canvas, paint, and stretcher. Anyone can buy an ounce of silver, but few can turn it into art.

I saw a brass St. Gaudens on vcoins.
If I had an income I would have jumped on it. If I could have gotten that one up top I CERTAINLY would have!

You are correct. I just looked. Appears you got a fine price.

Anyone have an idea about the value of a 2016 1 oz. Gold NGC PF 70 Ultra Cameo Winged Liberty?
