I'm not sure what page it is that you are referring to when you say - "I do not have permission to view this page." Can you be more specific so I can help you out ?

New Post Function: I wanted to create a thread on this but it says I have Insufficient Privileges or something like that so hopefully somebody sees this.

I don't understand the New Post tab/function. I would think that any threads that get new posts would appear on that tab. You know, it's the ones that got the most recent activity. Instead, it only seems to be for New THREADS that are very recent and get new posts (or even posts not that far in the past).

Is there a way to see which threads have gotten recent activity ? I get Alerts on responses or Likes to my posts, but if I refresh a Thread from 3 months ago or 3 years ago and then someone responds to it also, it is my understanding that I won't see it on New Posts unless it also shows up in my Alert because the person Replied or Quoted me.

I am unable to start a thread, post photos, PM or read the "Rules" forum. I'm assuming my registration might not be confirmed. One of the suggestions above was to use common email carriers. Well this account was set up with my yahoo email. So supposedly that should work. Although I don't remember getting a confirmation email. But if I set my account to require two stage verification, that email does go to my yahoo account. I have checked my spam. I have checked my deleted.

I have also tried to set up a second account with my gmail account. I had the same problems with that.

Are those feature that kick in after awhile. Or is my registration really screwed up.

    Hello,

I cannot seem to be able to create any new posts on forums. I have emailed a verification code and typed it in multiple times and still do not have the privilege to post anything new. The code seems to go though but each time I login I have to do the same process of confirming email. If I could get help with this issue, I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm not really sure what you mean. I say that because you've made 2 new posts, one of them right here. The other here -
    https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1960d-cent-die-chips-date-and-r-in-liberty.353342/#post-3995712

That said, there are a few areas of the forum where new members cannot make a post, the 4 ad sections for example. The reason for that is explained in the Forum Rules, please read them.

But I have no way of knowing if you are even talking about the ad sections. So please, be more specific, tell me exactly which section and or thread you are trying to post in and cannot post in. For example if you're trying to post in US Coins then tell me it's US Coins and the name of the specific thread.

Once I know what you really mean I'll be more than glad to help.

I am not sure what happened exactly, but now I seem to be able too post a new thread. I was trying to post in the Error Coins forum, but was unable too, even after verifying my email multiple times. Sorry for not being specific earlier and thanks for responding so quickly!

Well, now that I know what you were talking about ...........

Brand new members have limited posting ability for anywhere from a few minutes up to 24 hrs sometimes, but it's usually less than that, and rarely if ever more. It kinda has to do with site security, the software settings, automatic updating etc., and even me to a degree at times. But that's really all I can or will say about it.

Well, I cannot add a profile photo, start a thread, or add files in a post to an existing thread, but I guess this is because I only registered a few hours ago.. I will give it a try tomorrow, and hopefully all will be OK.

Can I edit my own posts? I do not seem to have that option.

Yes, but there is a time limit. You can't go back days later and edit.

@onebluesummer There is a button to create a post. Open any thread and scroll to the very top of the page. In the blue box at the very top click on FORUMS. a dropdown menu will open up, scroll down to the topic you want to discuss. Click on that topic (Coin chat; US Coins forum; Error coins; etc.). After you choose a forum a box will open up and in the bottom right corner there's a blue box that shows Create a Post. Click on that and you're on your way. If you need more help, please don;t hesitate to ask. That's why we're here.

Correction to my previous post. The blue box in the lower right corner shows Post New Thread and not "Create a Post". My apologies. :shame:

I hope this is an appropriate question for this thread. What is the purpose of selecting “Thumbnail” when posting photos ? And why is “Thumbnail” the default setting ? I spend most of my time on the paper money forum, and having to click on a thumbnail is an extra step I have to take to view a members photo. Why is “Thumbnail” even a choice ?

If the image is extra large, thumbnail keeps it to a manageable size for posting, plus clicking on the thumbnail allows you to see the original size image

I confirmed my email but I still can't add photos or change my profile pic. What gives? What did I do wrong?

Are your photos stored on the same device you're using to go on Coin Talk? If so, what file are they stored in?
