A rather unattractive MS piece, not going to speculate on the actual MS grade. (Is that a scratch in the center of the reverse?) I think the TPG called it a SP-66. Would be interesting to see some of the others. I would suspect some of the "lower" graded ones may be nicer.
This looks so strange. I like it. Almost looks proof, or fresh dies??? I can't say if it even graded (details), but if it did I'll say 65??
There was a thread about this on CU. I wont guess since I know the grade, the hammer price and who now owns it. This beast now resides in the DL Hanson collection.
Oh yes very fresh dies, you don't get much die wear when you start with brand new dies and then only strike 24 coins. That is why these business strikes have such PL surfaces.
