Another one for my gold type set. I made an offer it was accepted and 10% e bucks made me a happy guy. Sellers image.
1936 Cleveland Commemorative Half PCGS MS66 1945 D Jefferson Nickel NGC MS66 1945 S Jefferson Nickel NGC MS66 5 Full Steps
The Wayte Raymond board is new. My arm was “twisted” by another member, you can guess who. This holds my raw Philly Mints. As you can see, I have a long way to go, all my real good ones are in slabs.
Not going to lie - I'm a big fan of this 1955 Proof Jefferson Nickel (just picked up today.) Apart from a tiny mark on Jefferson's collar, I don't see a single mark on the coin at all. I'm hopeful this coin will do well when I finally get around to sending my latest hoard of Jeffersons in under a bulk deal. Also picked up this 1955 Proof Franklin Half - and oh, man, if only the cameo on the Liberty Bell was as consistent as the obverse. I'd have a real winner. Still a gorgeous coin, though. Will also include it when I send in a bulk deal of Franklins and see where it goes.
A very original 1917-D Rev Walker . . . A nice 1853-O Arrow & Rays Quarter . . . And a second 1915 2 Feathers Buffalo Nickel . . .
Seller called this one VF and had it for $39.96 BIN with free shipping. I pulled the trigger. I personally think it's solid XF. Wonder if it would straight-grade if submitted? I don't see why not. (I might or might not submit it to PCGS later.) The only potential concern I see is the small patch around Star #5. But the surfaces look OK otherwise- indeed, pretty nice, actually. There's dirt in the date, so maybe the stuff at S5 is more of the same- just a bit of old grime. Guess I'll find out. Numismedia says $51 in VF20 and $94 in XF40 (with a recent price increase in XF noted). I reckoned this one was worth a shot, whether I end up slabbing and keeping it, slabbing and selling it, or flipping it raw to someone for their 7070 set. Essentially I just got an XF for Fine-ish retail price... I think. What say you? PS- @Nathan401- this is what I spent your money on, so thanks.
Was on vacation so I haven't posted in a while. These are all items I found in circulation. First is a pair of 40% silver half dollars Then 5 quarters, 4 silver and one 2006 clad proof. 4 silver dimes 3 war nickels A 1907 half dollar (used for a 50 cent toll) And yesterday in a pile of crap change I found this 1901 Indian penny. Also ( I know, for a different thread) 16 silver certificates. Not in the best shape, but still And a few nice old bills. Nothing special about the 1963 $10 except it is crisp and like new
Nice coin. A few years ago a friend wanted me to sell a large collection she inherited from her mother. In it were three nice 1848 LC that I sent in to be slabbed. They ended up grading AU58, MS62, and MS63. I really wanted to buy one of them from her but decided to sell them at auction so there wouldn't be any conflict of interest issues.
I bought these at the ANA convention in Chicago last week. They cost a dollar for a deck of 53. Five sets: Copper Coin of Freedom (8) Commemorative Coin Historic (5) Silver Coin Americana (16) Nickel Coin Liberty (7) Gold Coin Patriot (16) Series Header Card (1) (c) 1991 by Liberty Bell Products, Scottsdale, Arizona.
Another (relatively inexpensive) newp from @CircCam. Like the 1853 quarter I recently posted (which also came from him), it's got that nice "crusty" original look. I quite like upper-VF coins with eye appeal like this. They're affordable, and still handsome enough to include in my primary collection. This one is PCGS VF35. Considering the trend values spike upwards at XF40, a VF35 is a good value for the price.
