What is the word for a group of hippocampus or hippocampi? A pod? A school? A sea heard? I suggest... a gallienus...

    A gallienus of hippocampi!!!

Mine came from France, and arrived just fine. It was for a Saturnalia rather than a decennalia (thanks, @Cucumbor!) :)

Here's a drachm I hadn't shown before. No wonder I forgot about it... it's rather aesthetically challenged :D. At least it wasn't as expensive as some of the ex-Dattari corroded dregs :).

I have a question about this coin:
I recently won one of these in a bulk lot. There is an old label that came with it. It says:
    "Sicily, Syracuse
    AE trias
    Timoleon
    344-336 BC
    S1193"

In researching this I noticed that most of the examples credit it to Dionysius I (405-366 BC)

Is the information that came with my coin just out of date or were there two separate issues?

    Acquired two hippocamps this year:

Cannot make out the held octopus in the former, but have been waiting for a decent "archaic" nomos from tarentum to complement the classical.
