Fantastic!! Your video was well produced, informatively useful and quite enjoyable. I watched it 3 times and look forward to the next installment. Great job @TIF -d
Fantastic video TIF , very professionel done, although I would like the Malta coins you show from auctions and private collectors a bit longer in view. and congratulations achieving your goal to leave the tornado Island , did you sell the house or are you gonna rent it out ? Happy stay in Texas and must be great with mum taking good care of you and vice versa.
Thanks, Andres! I'm selling-- or hoping to sell! If it doesn't move I'll have to rent it out. Hoping to leave before the end of the year. I'm in Texas at the moment and really love spending time with my mom. She's 86 and lives alone but it is becoming very difficult for her to manage alone, so being here will be great for her-- and for me! I'm fortunate in that we not only get along well, we actually enjoy each other's company . Her house is in poor repair and probably not worth an extensive renovation so I'm hoping to build a modest house for us in the foreseeable future.
Good luck with both houses , TIF TIF = Tough Independed Female I assume you will need a new job too ?
A wonderful video! It undoubtedly required an immense amount of time to produce and the outcome is reflective of this effort!
Magnificent TIF! Very professional, which of course would be the norm for you, and a beautiful voice. I like your TIF logo too. I sure do hope you produce more.
Did you see what’s on the first page of hits when you search “ancient coins” !! Love to see more of yours on that page.
That was a great video TIF! Very well done and the perfect length for YT attention spans (I include myself here)! I'm sure it was quite a bit a work, but I'd enjoy seeing more!
Great video, @TIF ! And what a voice! I have a hunch about the supposed deity described as Osiris, wearing Atef's crown. The Atef crown is the representation of the Underworld reign. I may be really writing a great nonsense here, but I thought of the possibility of a butterfly-goddess. And who shows up? Psyche! Psyche means soul, mind in Greek. The adapted Roman name of Psyche is Anima. It may be an Egyptian-Greek religious syncretism, but the Psyche Myth includes her journey to Underworld ... Anyway, like most here, I now have Melita coins on my wish list.
@TIF your OP inspired me. I have collected coins of Malta for a while because of the historical significance of the little island. I buy pretty much any reference I can lay my hands on. My collection had been only the more modern era, 1500s to 1800s, roughly. My ancient collection is still pretty limited and I have been proceeding with baby steps. I had never even considered the possibility of ancients from Malta. That is, until you started this thread. Since last July I have been searching the normal routes with no success. My goal was to simply add a piece to complement my modern collection. In the last couple of months, I had kind of forgotten about my search. Then CNG sent out an email prior to there eAuction 469 stating that they had a small collection of coins from Melita in the sale. I had mixed feelings about the email. On one hand, they pointed out something that I had overlooked but on the other hand, now everyone knows. Being that not many auction records exist it was tough for me to determine what to bid. In the end, I bid on 3 of the 4 and won the 2 below. Photos and descriptions are from CNG. ISLANDS off SICILY, Melita. 150-146 BC. Æ (25.5mm, 11.13 g, 12h). Head of Isis left, wearing ouraios; grain ear to left / Osiris kneeling left, holding flail and scepter. Coleiro 4; Perassi 25–40; CNS 8; SNG Copenhagen (Vol. 8) 465–6. Green-brown patina, a couple scratches on obverse. Fine. From the collection of a Malta Numismatic Society board member. Ex Gustav Pisani Collection. ISLANDS off SICILY, Melita. 218-175 BC. Green-brown patina, trace deposits, small mark on reverse. VF. From the collection of a Malta Numismatic Society board member. Ex Gustav Pisani Collection. Neither of these is as nice as the ones in TIF's video but I like them.
