My once-famous "Holey Gold Hat" was completely denuded of all its gold coins in the 2008 recession, when I got laid off. It has been in a box at the top of the closet ever since, forlorn and coinless. However, I've been tucking away a few (non-gold) holey pieces in the last few years. Some love tokens, medals, old Spanish colonials, and such- even a couple of small silver coins mounted on Victorian hat pins. So it will get a new lease on life one of these days. Not with as much monetary value as before, but still with fun holey stuff.
