1904 Edward VII half sovereign

  1. World coiners,
A friend brought this in to me. I don't collect modern coins; though it looks authentic to me.
I didn't weigh it, but it's heavy for the size.
Heavier than your average imperial denarius. (I have nothing else to compare it to.)

    Opinions on authenticity
(worth if you feel like it.)

Sorry for the hasty photos; had a smudge on my camera lens, apparently.

    Congrats @iamtiberius

The horse looks just dodgy enough to convince me that it is authentic (I don't know why, but they look light on detail compared to a full sovereign).

It should weigh 3.99g and should be just a smidgen over 19mm in diameter.

The portrait of Ed looks spot on and no irregularities in the obverse lettering jump out at me. I suggest comparing to some photos of known authentic coins.
