Featured The Slabbed (NGC/PCGS) AT-QT (Artificial/Questionable Toning) Thread

I agree; it did look questionable, but was unusual enough that it piqued my interest.
I bid on it, but the final price was more than I wanted to spend on this coin ($652.50 in Nov 2018 and then $916.86 in early March 2019).

I could see something like that being done. It would be a shame if that is how it happened as I think the coin would be nicer (and no doubt NT) with just the rainbow parts.

I'll say it's acceptable for a 19th century proof (maybe stored in a velvet cabinet and/or tissue)... MA

It went to pcgs asa crossover. Qc cracked it and tried again. Same problem. Then ngc and one more at pcgs. Can’t get a straight grade
