I have some money in individual stocks, but more (especially retirement money) in funds. I haven't done any PM paper trading so far.
Diversity is the key. Buy a little bit of everything. Gold, silver, platinum, stocks, Legos, antiques or whatever but diversity is the key
Love the .999 silver lego style bars - very easy to stack https://www.monarchpreciousmetals.c...fine-silver-monarch-building-block-bar-detail
As adam500 states diversity is the key. I own Apple, Alphabet, Intel, Microsoft, Cisco, Home Depot, S&P index funds +, and gold bullion. Don't count my silver as an investment.
Mostly individual stocks and bonds. Couple of mutual funds (rising dividends for stock and tax-free municipal bonds). Physical gold for now, though I have done an ETF in the past and might again.
Have a good Financial Advisor. They can help with all of that. And a good advisor will give you advice above and beyond just portfolio construction. There are alot of things that are just as or more important than just the investment piece.
I'm lazy, or perhaps better too busy, I just do mutual funds. I am really only willing to buy bullion when I can find it for under melt. I have a friend who does 6% APR promissory notes from his investment firm that I use. I think that's about it.
All of those at times, but my rental property has been by far the best return. Location, Location, Location. Buy near an University that grows every year helps. Jim
I agree, I buy houses at tax sales, fix them up and sell them to friends on land contract. I have not had any problems collecting, not because they are friends but because they are buying. They get to own a house for less than rent would be and only have to pay for 7 years, not 15 or 30 like a mortgage. I don't have to do any repairs since they are the "owner." On average I get my investment back in 2 years and the next 5 are profit. 250% ROI in 7 years.
Exactly what he said. PM paper could be a good play when basis for physical goes crazy to lock in a PM value and wait to trade it our for physical when premiums decrease. Long term, I find physical cheaper carrying costs than paper, and I like to Scrooge McDuck with shiny metal.
