Well, i just happened to be on APMEX researching some 10 OZ Silver Bars And saw something amazing, 1 OZ Silver Krugerrands have dropped in Price substantially the 2017 that i have with the 50 privy, is still well Over spot but the 2019 are going for $17.97 in quantity ( $1,99 ) Over spot ! ASE,S on the other hand are $18,05 not much of Difference but why pay more ? plus the Kruger has a great reputation To boot
if you are looking to just stack Provident metals has a deal right now for 1 oz rounds, 59 cents over spot also provident and JM Bullion have 10 oz bars much cheaper then APMEX, I have noticed APMEX is charging tax now and have been crazy wild on their price over spot lately? Provident is slow on shipping but I don't have a problem with waiting a couple of weeks for my order.
Rounds, just dont get the respect that ASE,S and Krugers get, or any Government issued coin for that matter, when it comes time to sell.
Yep. I looked at what I paid for the 2017 raw shortly after release, and well, I hope silver prices rise....lol. I recently added a SP69 in 2017 to my collection. Just because. I know people frown upon graded bullion, but it's my collection, so I added it.
2017 were supposed to be rarer from what I heard. Still, if you are stacking, I will wager you will be happier owning ASEs than a foreign issue when it comes time to sell. The Kruggerand had a great reputation as a gold bullion piece, silver they were never famous. The SA mint just trying to ride on the gold's coattails.
The bottom line, is really the cost, whats less expensive to own? and a better Investment ? after all when it comes right down to it, its a bullion coin 1 OZ Silver so regardless of anything else, whats the best bang for your buck !
That is the unknown. You never know what confidence the buyer will have in the form of silver you own, what discount or premium they will assign to it. It is not a simple "buy the cheapest premium product" because many-most people prefer the security of government issued coins, and like to collect them. I was wagering that in the US, you would get higher buyback prices for ASEs versus a silver kruggerand. Just my opinion.
I bought the 2017 Silver Krugerrand because it was the first one ever minted. Thought it would be cool to have one. I'm not a silver stacker. I just like silver coins, bullion and now getting into hand poured bars.
For collecting I will NEVER doubt a person's purchases. Its your hobby, buy what is attractive to you. If someone is talking about bullion investment, its a different discussion. There, you mush consider the cheapest NET price of owning bullion, which takes into account both buying and selling premium/discount. The selling one is always unknown, leading to the discussions here.
