Seems like I have had the opportunity to buy these a lot lately. The deep chocolate toning of this one is very nice! What do you think on grade?

Looks AU55-58 to me. What is the vertical crease in the top of the shield?

I guess it's the lighting but I'm not picking up on the choco toning.

She took a hit. That crease is barely noticeable in hand. The lighting really picks it up.

That one deserves a genny holder imo.

What did you do with the chocolate? Looks AU-55 to me.

Looks AU-55 without much brown toning. Maybe it's just the pics but it doesn't look like it has chocolate brown toning.

Here is a quick photo on a white background. Lighting not great. Definately a deep brown.

Damn. This just proves that it's more advantageous to view coins in hand, that lighting is everything, and one can't necessarily predict what a coin looks like just by looking at photos on the internet. I was sure "years of experience" grading in person and from photographs helped to infallibly predict what a coin will look like in hand. So much for THAT.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

There is *way* too much light on the coin in those original pics. Try taking some more pics with less light, so that we can see the "chocolate" surfaces.

Also..... "chocolate" is not a term I usually use for silver...... copper, sure. But silver? Why is it brown?

I have it boxed up with some others for grading but there is another photo a few posts up.

Ah, you went to the other extreme.... that picture has not nearly enough light, and is at a weird angle. I guess we'll just have to wait until it gets back.

I have to insert this image of a seated dollar that is cocoa brown. No idea why, but it is.
