Personally, I like my REIT stock. I'm currently getting an 11.64% dividend.
Best time to buy is after the dividend-ex date, when the price drops down before gradually rising to the next dividend-ex date.

Regarding stocks in general, I read somewhere that we may see a fast rise over the next year, then a major drop, but who knows.
