I hope this is the right section for asking this question. If it isnt, my apologies. I was thinking about putting a coin on Ebay to sell for fun and to just see how it goes. Its not a graded coin. Its an error coin that is a variety I verified as an error a few weeks back. I think the coin world uses the term "raw" maybe on ungraded coins? How do you guys determine the value to list on ebay? Condition is so difficult but I will assume the market will quickly determine that area of value if good pics are posted. Where do you start with price and which price book do you use???? Also, can you tell me of your success stories with it? I'd love to hear it.
Start by doing an Ebay search for "sold" listings matching your coin's description. That'll give you an idea of what it has sold for in the past. This works best with items that appear regularly. For rarer items, or for those that simply don't appear very often, this might be difficult, as a particular buyer may be willing to be much more than any other. They just have to be on the site that day when your item is for sale for you to benefit. Good luck!
A no-reserve auction will tell you how much it's worth. Be sure to really hype it up in the listing and let the auction run for 10 days.
Errors don't sell very well in my opinion, but let's see what you got! If you want a price you have to help us in order for us to help you.
sorry for the delay. I had sick cats to deal with all weekend. URI ran through my pack. Fought it off though all good. Below is a link to my original post rather than repost all the photos. when I originally posted this question about ebay, I wasnt going to necessarily get into detail about the coin which is why I didnt put it in what its worth at that time. Id like to hear how to determine or start to determine it by myself rather than just get a quick "value" by listing it on what its worth. I would rather at least have a little understanding of what you guys use, do, whatever to determine a value. Ive sold items before on other sites and I get it but listening to others always proves to show ideas I might not have thought of....especially since this is just a hobby for me and not my lively hood. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/penny-1941-wddo-005.325316/ I found the match on Wexlers first as -005 This below is from Coppercoins 1DO-006 https://coppercoins.com/diesearch.php The Coneca variety is...CONECA: 5-O-IV trying to have fun with it.
