Unfortunately, the vast majority of such finds turn out to be anything but as claimed and is why you're seeing such skepticism expressed. At this point the best thing to do would be to post clear, well-detailed photos of both the obverse and reverse of the coin in question, and do so with an open mind. If the likely turns out to be the case, if you accept it as a leaning experience you'll also be the better for it. Welcome to the forum.
True errors are rare. Errors found in circulation are rarer still. Coins thought to be errors after viewing You Tube videos, abundant. I've found a couple of errors after looking at millions of coins for 50 years. They aren't very valuable, but they have a little value and they are cool. Unfortunately, that rare error is not in your pocket change. That's a needle in 1000 haystacks find.
This is where the flowchart sends everyone back to post #18. click this ---> https://www.cointalk.com/threads/weird-dime-i-found-in-my-change-copper-color.107725/#post-3137319
I know this is an old post. I found a 2017 dime in my change jar. It looks like it has a copper overlay on top of silver. I first thought it was just tarnished, but when I look on the outside rim of the dime I can see that the back of the dime has a perfect "copper" color going all around the rim. Its not tarnish. It looks like copper on the rim. Almost like a split of silver and copper. Could this be a mint mess up?
Without photos any responses received will be at best pure speculation. Please consider starting a new thread with photos. If you do surely you'll get the answers you seek. Welcome to the forum.
It could be something. Weigh it. Post the weight and clear photos of the obverse, reverse and rim. More than 1 edge picture if that's an important clue.
