It is the Republic of Macedonia (I think that is its official name), or the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). I can only take us right back to Bulgaria so I will hold off for a while.
Side note: The prime ministers of Greece and Macedonia recently agreed on Northern Macedonia as the name of the independent country. But apparently some people in both countries are against the agreement, so it may take a while until we see coins with the new country name ... Christian
Interesting note about Macedonia, Christian! Thanks! There must be some location in Greece that we can get to Egypt without running into another state! Thus, for your viewing pleasure, a 1992 ten piastres (KM 732).
Its not far to the old French Indo-China, which was Vietnam, Cambodia and Lao. 1887 French Indo-China 1 cent
Hmmm . . . . I am out unless we go back to Malaysia - but now to a different day and age when it was Malaya. This one's a bit closer (in time) to coin_nut's French Indo-China from 1887. A 1941 one cent - Malaya KM 2.
2479 = 1946 25 satang. That coin is in remarkably good condition for its age and tin composition. I have one which is old and gray and ugly.
