Well I find a lot of junkers, but the stainless steel ones are usually well crafted. The tungsten rings are really nice.

It's a lot of work. It's not for everybody.
But I have fun with it. Most times. Today was fun.

It was so humid today I had to drink alot of fluids lol. I broke my best dig tool, hurt my toe and cut my hand, but all in all I had fun. I got out in the sun got to walk and found some buried cash. Ive been rolling all my finds,i m saving for a new rig. I cant wait.

I go early. When it is light out, but before the sun comes up. It's nice and cool, and not too many people out. Dog walkers usually. One time I was digging a hole and a dog ran over and started digging in the hole with me, and he popped out a dime.
When there are a lot of people out, they want to jabber about the detector and it just kills my time, and if there are a lot of kids out I can't search where they are playing, and the detector is a kid magnet. They are constantly asking you questions and stuff, which is fine but I have stuff to do.
Today I was out from 5:30-8:30. And Sundays are quieter here than Saturdays. Although the parks here don't open until 6:00. I have found stuff in the dark, because I rely more on sound, and often there's a big streetlight anyway.

I know what you mean about kids, there a little park in my apartment building real nice. I go there sometimes when it's late and the kids are inside. But one time a little girl came out and was putting her hand in my hole "helping" me dig. I was using a sharp tool and I had to keep moving,i didn't want to chop this little girls finger off. I just said well im tired im going in. Everywhere i go the people always ask me what did you find today lol.

The ring with the stone is stamped THAILAND which can be silver, but it looks plated. The gold ring is stamped COP which is a local maker in Albq. The other ring has a parrot perched.

Lot of rain here, a number of places were flooded out. I'll see if I can get anything tomorrow.

When there's just a little rain, it helps because it creates a halo affect around the coins with the detector. Most of the places I am hitting, when I have to dig it's not bad. I just avoid where I have to remove and replace sod. Most playgrounds have wood chips, a few have sand, and the targets are often in there, not buried. And even if they are buried below that top layer, the soil there is softer and easier to dig then the baked cement dirt in other areas.

Only had a couple of weak hunts this year and this was one of them. Was hoping the little ring was stamped. DENIED.
