Man, I would love to have a cool one with you at your coin desk. I'll buy! You have some stunningly beautiful pieces.

    Dude. :greedy:

I like yours as much - or maybe more - than mine (which, as you saw, is an iridescent toner rather than a CircCam).

Thanks for the compliment, Randy! If you're ever in my neck of the woods, you're on.

Do you have your new one in-hand yet? I like it.

As an aside, one thing I like about the hunt for CircCams is that it feels like there is a bit less margin for error when buying from photos compared to other types. Assuming the pictures are good enough to identify that it hasn't crossed the environmental damage threshold, I'm usually a happy camper when they arrive.

It's true. CircCams are easy to shop for based on photographs, and photograph relatively easily in comparison to other toned coins. In fact, before I graduated from a flatbed scanner, I used to get pretty decent scans of them, straight from the scanner, with no tweaking needed:

Pardon my average photography, but these two dimes are two of my favorites that fit nicely into this category. It adds to the coolness factor that they are both 'cc' dimes from consecutive years.

The '76cc is a rare R6 variety but the '77cc has a cool circular obverse die crack and is a little higher grade. I love 'em both!

I like 'em both, too, but particularly the '77-CC. Nice "crusty" look.

Some of these Seated dime love tokens from an old collection of mine were CircCams on one side and engraved on the other.

That coin was struck looooong before any country called Scotland existed!

That coin is from Olbia, which is in Italy (technically on the island of Sardinia), in the Mediterranean. I don't know how old it is, but it's from the BC era. That puts it centuries before Caledonia, even (which was the Roman name for Scotland) ... let alone before any modern form of Scotland existed.

But since @scottishmoney was the person who posted it, your confusion is understandable.
