Definite 66 minimum. More likely a 66+. If it had a stronger strike, it would be a lock on 67. Absolutely beautiful, clean coin, with tons of luster. So, I will go with 66+.
My gut told me 67 when I first saw it with a quick glance. Then I read everyones comments and i could see 66 especially the reverse. I will stick with my gut though, come on 67!
Your pic of coin in slab is very different from the one in the OP. The marks on her cheeks are much more visible and the disturbance in the right obverse field is much larger. I'd say NGC got it right.
@BigTee44 , I didn't mean to offend. After seeing the two photos side by side, I'll just say they are a little more noticeable in the pictures of the slab. Did you get the grade/result you were hoping for or expecting?
I wasn't offended. I just thought the two pictures I had did a good job of showing any blemishes. I just think a 65 was harsh... even a 65+ would have been more fitting. I might try and have him send that one to CAC. This coin was sent in for a local friend. He only wanted to send in anything 65 or better. 63,64,65 were the results of his Morgans. Even the 85-O in 66 would have made the submission worth it. Looks like a wash for him this time.
