Could someone comment on what caused this stain

    Thanks Colonial this was one coin of eight that I bought and I have no idea how to clean it and would probably screw it up if I tried. Thanks for your interest.

    Thanks for the kind words John, but trust me - I've been wrong before. Think the last time was in '68 :D

    Just kidding on that last part of course, I do make my share of mistakes just like everybody else ;)

    You might start with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol - roll the wet cotton across the stain - if it's recently applied permanent marker ink, you'll see the ink transfer to the Q-tip cotton - if no results, try acetone, etc. :cool:
