Probably because the state isn't spelled with it, but the culture is. Like not having accents on Mexico in English, but it is México on maps.
The George Rogers Clark (GRC) puck has officially sold out. It was release for sale in December 2017, took 2 months to sellout, and has a mintage of 14,739. It is currently 1st of 41 pucks in rarity. I'm currently valuing the puck at $260, but it is increasing in value everyday. George Rogers Clark National Historical Park is located in Vincennes, Indiana on the banks of the Wabash River at what is believed to be the site of Fort Sackville. GRC was an American surveyor before the revolutionary war and became the highest ranking officer during that war on the northwestern frontier. His march to Vincennes was his most celebrated victory of the Revolutionary war. He was later disgraced for accusations of being drunk on duty. You've got to love this guy!
The last few SP70s have gone for $270 on eBay. 69s are still available at $199, and OGP ungraded seem to be going around $260.
I came across this post a few days ago, and camped on that page ever since, trying to decide whether to speculate. As of this morning, they still had 4 left. This evening, they're gone. Now all that's left is watching and waiting to see how much regret is due...
Here is the one that I purchased from them. Not sure why NGC only gave it a 69 but not a bad deal for $189 shipped. TC
They have one left on eBay at $199: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-P-Geo...976937?hash=item1ed63772a9:g:NXAAAOSwP4FaPRW1
First time I heard of them being called PUCKS, but I am a newbie to some of the Lingo, I have all of the ATB's sold so far and some all doubles since Homestead. The only issue is storage, they take up a lot of safe space.
I have all the collector pucks too. I started since the beginning and really like this program from the US mint. I'm a huge fan of Coin Show Radio. The first time that I heard the "puck" term was several years ago on that POD cast. I believe that it came from Matt Dinger but he may have got the term from somewhere else. I thought that it was a cool term for the 5-oz coins as they do appear to be like pucks.
Like I mentioned I have the whole set and doubles from the Homestead issue on. I'm in the enrollment program for certain coins also from the mint. I believe when you enrolled, the coins released are probably FDI hopefully .I never had them certified but they really are nice looking. I have 4 ,6,8,16 oz Washington mint silver and national coll. mint PUCKS, they also take up a lot of room. If silver ever goes up I will be very happy or my kids and wife will.
