    Would that be enough to distinguish between the two on a coin? I wonder how many die engravers actually saw a live elephant. I ask because of the wide style of elephants even on the same series of coins like Caesar, Titus, Septimius, even Tarentine control marks. Even within the same series they are quite different depending on the engraver. Do we know historically where Hannibal got his elephants?
