Update: this giveaway has CLOSED for entries, now.

Please see the link in my signature line for the current giveaway.

    Hi, and Happy February!

As per my usual practice, I'll offer up a prize and we'll do a random drawing at the end of the month. I won't make you work too hard for it, but merely ask that you include the words "entry post" in your initial post, so that when the random number generator is used to draw a winner, I can differentiate the entry posts from the general chat posts. Just one entry post per member, please.

One other thing I might ask y'all to indulge me with later this month is to vote in a separate set of polls that will be a "popularity contest" of my coins (versus my other coins). I just want to do some simple polls to see what the most popular of my coins are. For ... well... just for fun. Stay tuned for that. I have some housekeeping to do with my collection before the next "Eclectic Box" update is posted, however- not to mention those other polls. Anyway, I'm rambling.

Y'all just wanna see the prize, right? Of course you do. ;)

It's something of a mixed bag this month.

    Literally
    a bag of stuff.

You'll see why I chose to post the giveaway in "Coin Chat" rather than "World Coins".

    One winner takes all.

First, a big bag of tokens and medals.

On my postal scale, in the canvas sack, this weighed 2 pounds, 10.5 ounces. We've got transit tokens, proof- and mint set medals, presidential tokens, Masonic pieces, and some ... oddball stuff. Really I have no firm grasp on what-all's in here. It appears to be mostly common stuff, but there could be a cherrypick or two hiding in here. I gave these no close examination, aside from plucking out a few religious medals for my pal @Deacon Ray.

(Hey hey, Deacon Ray! You're already a winner- you just don't know it yet! But don't get too excited.) ;)

Secondly, a big bunch of zeros!

Here is a Ten-trillion dollar banknote from Zimbabwe. It's a real banknote- not a fantasy issue! That's how bad their hyperinflation got!

(I'm using a stock photo here, but the note you receive will be exactly like this- just with a different serial number.)

Now, I said "One winner takes all", and that is certainly the case for the items above (Ye "Big Bag o' Tokens" & Ten-Trillion Z$).

However, there might also be a second prize up for grabs here, for which there would be a second drawing and a second winner.

Update: yep, it's official: @ace71499 has tossed an additional prize onto the table, so two numbers will be drawn.

Back when I launched January's giveaway (now closed), @ace71499 wanted to put up a prize. But he came aboard just a tiny bit too late (plus, with @MontCollector and @H8_modern already aboard, we were already pretty full in the donor department).

Anyway, @ace71499 wanted to add an old Red Seal US $2 note from a hoard he found. If his offer still stands, I'll let him post about it. In the meantime, I have linked to his thread about those.

@ace71499 - thanks for the offer, and welcome aboard if it still stands. :)

I will politely decline any other offers of donations for this giveaway, merely for logistical reasons, though I do welcome partners in future giveaways and of course encourage you to post some on your own. I'll even enter 'em occasionally! (I have been a recipient as well as a donor in giveaways here, so what comes around goes around.)

Thanks for the compliment, but don't feel like you have to "abstain outta respect". If I had a problem givin' stuff away, I wouldn't do it, right? :)

    However, do as you wish.

At the end of the month I'll just draw from the posts that say "entry post".

(One entry post per member- for those who wish to actually enter the drawing.)

The dealer I got these from obviously was, at some point. There's almost a roll each of the P & D ones. Some proof set medals, too.

This looks VERY interesting, I must say. I am a newbie here and I know next to nothing about tokens or medals. That looks to me as a fantastic lot! It just amazes me how people just want to give treasures like that away. To me, that would be a treasure, at least. Perhaps to others, those might be very common tokens and medals.
Anyway, I am happy to take part in this.
Thank You very much LordMarcovan and ace71499 !!
