Good morning guys my cousin sent me a picture of this coin as you can see from the pic, That the one in question is half the size and thickness as the regular Lincoln penny.

I am not familiar with this type of error it could be just from environmental damage.

Warning viewer discretion is advised he is a mechanic and as you will see the hands and fingernails are scary.

So you have been warned any thoughts or comments would be appreciated thank you.

I'd be willing to bet it was soaked in an acidic solution. Ask him if the obverse and reverse look "cloudy". This is post mint damage and has no value

Any question with any coin should be accompanied with pictures of both sides of the coin.

Yes sir Paddyman98 you're right if it had been my coin you would have had both sides.
But he's an old geezer and I got lucky to get him to do that but I appreciate it thank you.

You see these more often than you might think you would. Back when I was a kid soda in a machine was 10 cents. If you put a cent in acid long enough the soda machine would accept it as a dime, not that I would do this. The local auto repair shop owner was friendly and one day he showed me the coin box out of his machine with 4 acid dipped cents in it.

Pictures would tell if this is a split cent or acid treated. There is no mention if there is a design on both sides.
