My net acting up. freezing, signing me out. I replied here now its gone. my $1 value upset ya? or metal coins? go try out those pressed coal coins the germans made if ya like junk material coins.
I'm thinking this is an older one. Not sure. If so it might buy a couple of drinks to the right collector.
Really not sure which bar I got this in but I believe it was up in Alaska somewhere. The bartender would give you one when someone bought you a drink. Or maybe you keep things for the memories. USMC60
There are collectors of these things. You might check here www.wooden-nickel.net To me, they have no value at all.
I suspect just a couple dollars. Some people collect exonumia by region so someone after the town or county would probably really be in to it.
tommyc03 Well Howdy there You know the Alaskans, not only do they do a lot of drinking in the winter. But they have a lot of time on their hands, and I think they believe wood is a little more traditional. USMC60
I do have a wood nickel somewhere. It annoyed me that it was just black ink on a flat surface. They should have branded them with a hot iron. I didnt intend to be mean. I apoligize if I came off short usmc60.
Totally agree on that partner. But I've seen what Alaskans can do when they get a little tanked up. Snowmobile hockey on a frozen lake, I guess it's Alaskans version of polo. Though it may be funnier than hell, all it is is one big cluster -------- on ice. But it is funny. I can just imagine putting a hot branding iron in one of these tanked up Alaskans hands. I hope I do not Offend Any Alaskans, because the majority of them are some of the best people you'll ever meet. USMC60
