I have a British shilling and half crown, though not as nice as the one already posted. 1817 britain 1 shilling.jpg 1817 britain half crown.jpg

    I certainly hope so!

One of these two (both from that same year) will likely become my next addition to the "Eclectic Box" collection. I am leaning towards the first one at the moment. I will probably make my final decision within the week, so I reckon it's safe to post these here. There is a 95+% chance I'll be buying one or the other.

(*If you cry foul on me for advance-posting a coin I haven't bought quite yet, I will say in my defense that I've owned one of these in the past but never saved pictures of it, and I have other 1817 coins, but likewise no pictures of them.)

Roman - I just had a quick peek at your Reg set and it looks awesome! That little "virtual album" flipbook feature they added is cool. I haven't had a set registered since Dubya was in the White House.

Thanks Rob! I really like how the set has been evolving over the last few years. With the new wife, house and a perhaps a baby in the not so distant future, my numismatic budget will probably be spent on other things, so I'm trying to fill holes before it's time to put it on hold.

Another coin struck at the Tower Hill Mint, London, on steam driven presses. The 2, 1, 1/2 stivers of 1815 were the first coins minted by The Royal Mint for Ceylon.
