I haven't posted in here for a while. I just picked up this 1882-O Morgan Dollar VAM-38a today. To me it has a lot going for it. It's a Kimpton 12 with a nice die break on the reverse as well as a small strike through just above the eagle's left wing tip and a miss-aligned die on the obverse and reverse. I picked it up for $25.00
Looks like an easy 66! @jtlee321 this is my favorite thread on CT, currently. Under $50 purchases is right in my wheelhouse.
Same here. A large majority of my purchases are less than $50.00. Plus you can get some really nice coins if you know how to hunt down the deals for less than $50.00. There have been some spectacular buys listed in here.
$13.50. Easy AU, possible low UNC. I was not expecting the multiple clashes, die cracks, and laminations. I think I will keep it as an interesting curiosity.
Here is a 1934 S Peace dollar that is AU I got in a lot of "cull" Peace dollars I picked up at $15 each. Only one of the 11 "culls" I bought were true culls, but this was by far the best! Bought it from a large dealer too, which is even more surprising. The pictures aren't very flattering but in hand the obverse is very nice and the small amount of color is more attractive, the reverse needs a dip so the entire coin will likely receive one.
