StashTreasure Never pass up silver or gold.

I have over the last few months acquired quite abit of scrap gold of 10k,14k, and even 18k. I now face the problem of who to sell it to or where? I have heard good things about midwest refinery, but also bad things lately. Anyone know any other good place to sell scrap gold?

Do you have a local coin store? There is no guarantee that they will have the best offer, but it's worth checking in to get a quote and possible sale without having to mail anything.

Depending on the quantity, one of the big dealers might also be a possibility (i.e. Apmex).

Otherwise, a refiner would be your other choice.

    Best of luck!

I've always used Midwest and never had an issue. Although the scrap gold I've sent was largely medals, class rings, and such that were of a known gold purity by trusted manufacturers. I think most people I've read about with issues tend to be sending things like generic jewelry, etc that are pretty notorious for being off what they are stamped at.

Scrap gold? Where's it been? Hidding up your bottom? No such thing as 'scrap gold'. Gold is gold........
