I'm not familiar with that forum. My wife just bought me a Canon Rebel EOS, so I hope with some practice, I'll be able to take pictures of my coins as nice as yours.
Thanks. You WILL be able to for sure. I just assumed you were the same guy as MontCollector on CCF. I'm almost positive I remember seeing you post the same photos here and there, but maybe I'm just losing it. Hehe.
No other than PCGS and NGC forums, this is the only coin forum I'm on. When I joined this forum I used my real name and picture. I was told the same day I joined, by a moderator, that it was not a good idea to use my real identity, there were people who trolled the forum and liked to Google people and put out their personal info. He helped me change it to TheMont. I wanted my nickname, Monty, but he said that that was the name of a well known bad guy and it would give me grief.
Nope I'm here. I even used the same screen name as it was still available. I haven't posted as many Ikes on this thread though...Shame on me.
When it come to the different Types of 1972 Ikes, They are referring to the 1972P Ikes only. I believe the 1972S Unc. Silver Ike only had one type of Earth.
Montcollector: Your brown box Ike looks like it has a haze on it. One of mine did and I treated it with acetone and it took the haze off.
I know. I also have several 1971S Silver UNC. that are hazy as well. I did treat one of these with acetone and it didn't take the haze off. As for my BB Proofs, these are still in OGP with no plans on breaking them out. I do have a 1971S BB Proof that is clear and came in a 2x2. This is the one in my book. I believe I have already posted that one to this thread.
I let my Siler UNC sit for a few hours...Probably needed more time in though. I am not confident in my "cleaning" (for lack of a better term) skills. I have a 1971S Silver UNC that is a Talon Head Diva coin. This one is raw and VERY hazy. I would love to send it to someone who is good at removing the haze. Any members do this for other members?
I posted this next Ike on CT a while ago because of the DDO it has. At the suggestion of several people, I sent it into John Wexler for examination. It turned out to be a new listing. So here it is 1974D WDDO-002
Whoa! I didn't know about this, Mont. Congratulations! I'm a little jealous. Do you have any close-up shots of the DDO?
Here is a link to original thread about this coin. Close-ups can be seen here. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1974-d-eisenhower-dollar-new-ddo.296305/ Here is a link to the new listing on Wexlers' site. Mine is 002. http://doubleddie.com/2306337.html
I really like the toning on this '76 T1. I have 15 now altogether, so I might as well go for 20 and fill a blue box. Yeah, I'm kind of a hoarder when it comes to this issue.
