@Fee - do you have any Mint State Wheat cents yet?

If not, I'd be happy to send you two or three full-Red BU pieces as a gift. They will be late-date commons (1956-58), but pretty.

Yes, at most banks, they exchange at face value.....can get rolls or even boxes of rolls...some banks do not stock them and just have what is on hand.

You are the most generous person I have ever met. Keep it up. There is such thing as good karma and I think you are probably due. Maybe that's why you were able to cherry pick that 1914d cent.;)

Everybody who posts on the Coin Roll Hunting forum here probably knew, that's who. ;)

It's a fun, cheap way to collect. Get 'em from the bank, and all your coins will only cost you face value! You're already doing this with your circulation finds, but if you search rolls from the bank, you'll increase your odds of finding something good.

    I prefer nickels, personally.

You can even try to fill some inexpensive coin folders this way.

BTW, there are some nicer bookshelf albums with slides here. But the less expensive folders are usually available in hobby stores and bigger chain bookstores (for around three bucks, last I looked).

Awesome. I'm going first thing in morning. Really a lot of fun to see what treasure you find. I'm an artist and I have ADD so I tinker a lot hehe. This is right up my ally.

You'll want to pick yourself up a copy of the Red Book, too, if you don't already have one.

These can also usually be found locally at the bigger chain bookstores or hobby shops, in the collectibles section. In some places, Wal-Mart even carries them.

The Red Book is the "key to the kingdom" if you're going to collect US coins. It is chock full of information without being too esoteric or scholarly. It's just right for a learner.
