Certainly, if you buy me one of these coins so that I can fulfill @Sallent's admonition to "get both if you can".

Buy me one of the flying horsies above (the one I didn't just buy), and I'll get you some pancetta and brie, though I must say that sounds suspiciously hipster-ish- and oh, this "pancetta" isn't a 700-hp Italian sports car, is it? 'Cause those also tend to be a tad pricey, last time I checked.

Didn't Rush have a song called "Red Pancetta" on the Moving Pictures album? I digress. ;)

Which is of course why this is billed as a "semi meaningless" poll (bacon options notwithstanding).

I've already chosen, but it wasn't the easiest choice to make.

Simple. Buy whichever one you like best. :)

Personally, I'd go for the Ambracia since it is far less common whereas high quality Corinth staters are available day in, day out (although if you require certain control marks the choices might not be as abundant).

PS-- in trying to find that Corinth in CNG's archives (not there; must be from a very old sale) I came across some Artemis control marks in which it looks like she's riding a Firebolt world-class Quidditch broomstick. Added to the wish list :D

I voted for A. I've said before that I like it a lot. Are you no longer buying it? As TIF pointed out, you're really not going to see one of these everyday, and this one is nice!

I'm surprised "I like bacon a lot" hasn't received more votes.

As a collector I care not one whit what is rare and what is common. What I care about is eye appeal. A coin may be in 'good' condition or it may be in 'FDC'. The determining factor for me is if I like it. Of course, as a dealer I understand that a great many people (the majority) prefer grade over eye appeal. That's OK, it means I can buy the coins nobody else wants!

I highly recommend a product my company makes......don't know if I can post the brand name in here but you can pm me :)
The product is a lunch meat called "Bacon lovers Turkey"
Now picture this two less than 20 lbs Jack Russell mixed pups in a sleep coma in of course my bed.
All I need do is open the refrigerator door hopeful that I can make a sandwich without any company . ....no such luck... if you like bacon this stuff is the BOMB!

Dangit, zumbly! Just when it seems the poll was vindicating my selection (yes, I just bought Coin B), you have to go and make me second-guess myself all over again! Aaaack! :nailbiting:

It really was a tough choice.

I think I like the CNG archive one @TIF posted!

Everyone might as well pile on and post their pegasus coins. I'm sure such a thread has been done before, but one can never have too many flying horsies, right?

Thats why I picked A. My eyes keep going towards it and I love that kind of wear/toning on ANY coin.

B is nice too but doesn't do much for me.

B would be one I would flip if I got it cheap, A I would keep.

I'm late to the party, but voted Both Equally - both have their own merits.

I'm guessing you really were/are torn between the two:

Rob, You say you bought coin B , but I see coin A in your sig line box 20 ?
I voted for coin A , beautifull cabinet toning .

Bought one with the same toning last year from Künker,
    here it is:

Mmmm, bacon. One of the best I've had was honey bacon on sweet potato fries. Really, really liked it. Probably could have finished off a huge order and take a nap...
Oh yeah, um I voted for coin B. Really like the details on it.

Yeah, that was a premature edit when Coin A was first reserved for me.

Coin B should be here very soon to examine in hand, but I'm still torn over the decision. I've told the seller of Coin A that I'm backing out of that invoice, but to make up for being a pain, I'm buying a different coin of almost the same price from them. (More on this one later- it is not an ancient.)*

I suppose if Coin B does not totally "wow" me when I see it in hand, there is the return privilege, and then I go back to the (by now confused) seller of Coin A and tell him I want it after all (in addition to the other non-ancient). We'll see.

*PS- for those who are wondering who how I went from near-broke and scraping for the mortgage payment one moment to suddenly having the funds a few days later for a coin buying spree, I ran into a nice little windfall. A semi-forgotten CD from an old IRA account just matured, and I cashed it in. But for the record, I did do responsible stuff like pay off the credit card balance, do some minor home repairs, buy tires for ladymarcovan's car, and put some money in savings before the coin splurge. ;)

At this point I am feeling sorry for these confused, overworked and disappointed coin dealers. When they put a coin up for someone who does not end up buying it, it prevents them from selling it to someone else and causes the dealer unnecessary work, lost time and lost income.

When I am on the collector side of the counter I do not ask dealers to hold a coin for me until I am 100% sure I want it and I use return privileges very sparingly and only when the dealer has made a mistake. I have not returned a coin in at least the last 10 years and maybe much longer.

I think it is a good policy to put yourself in the others person's shoes in any deal, if you are going to the doctor, getting your hair cut or just having someone make you a latte.

(This is not specifically direct ay you LordM, I know you are a polite person who respects others and I know that there have been several stages to your deal with "dealer A" that have involved rejection of coins on both sides. This just seemed like a good place for this comment).

All the best polls have flying horses and bacon. I much prefer B. Sharper, and nice gold irridescence. I love this series, and want to get more with different controls.

Yes, this is an excellent point. I probably was a (slight) headache to the dealer who offered Coin A (and in fact they had offered me very nice terms on it, and even put it on layaway without my asking when I had some money issues arise earlier). There is a reason the seller of Coin A is currently my favorite dealer. (I'll go ahead and give 'em a free plug- it's Atlas Numismatics- specifically Chris Baker at that firm.) So yes, I backed out of that deal, but just a few moments ago bought a different coin from them for almost the same price (no layaway or discount requested), paid up, and have apologized for being wishy-washy on this deal with the Ambracian stater, so hopefully all is forgiven.

Coin B (the Corinthian stater) has arrived (from FORVM Ancient Coins), and I have examined it in hand. It is a nice piece, sharp and bright. I personally would have preferred it to be toned more like Coin A (as some others stated), but I like it and think I'll be keeping it. (@Aethelred: knowing our track record, it might end up with you eventually- you do seem to end up absorbing some of my ancients over the years, as they rotate out of the Box of 20. How does that keep happening? LOL)
