This new baby found its place recently in my trays because of its incredible colours : a glossy dark green and veronese green (almost) patina (fricken tough to take pictures of BTW) with pink cuprite deposits on the reverse. One can also see some yellow due to bare metal (orichalcum) appearing on the edge. It's a scarce sestertius of Marcus Aurelius' celebrating victory upon the Germans with a very appealing (to me) five lines text on the reverse :

Marcus Aurelius, Sestertius Rome mint, AD 173
M ANTONINVS AVG TRP XXVII, Laureate bust of Mercus Aurelius right
VICT / GERM / IMP VI / COS III / SC in five lines within a laurel wreath
    20,50 gr, 30 mm
    Ref : RCV # 5015, C # 995 (15), RIC #1090
    Ex Besançon Numismatique

Feel free to post anything you think is relevant : cool patina, Marcus Aurelius, Germans, victories. No underpants please :D

Neat Marcus coin Cucumbor, with a great colour scheme, love those original patina's. Speaking of patina's......this Nero provision market has none, looks like it might have had a black one at some stage now just orichalcum. 414.jpeg

Great coin, Q. I've never seen bubblegum pink on a coin before. I almost hate to say that I like it, but I do :D.

Only some of the colours on this Sep Sev were the result of my inept cleaning efforts...

Bubblegum pink? PeptoBismol pink? I've never seen that before. Interesting!

Here's a coin that was psychedelic but I cleaned it. It turned out very well but in a way I miss the riot of colors.

Nice pink coin. I have a similar Marcus Aurelius, minus the pink.

I was trying to find how to define the colour, but that's exactly what it is, bubblegum pink !

I think I wouldn't have touched it : the before pic is beautiful, and probably wouldn't dare cleaning it, even though the after pic reveals more details

The closest thing I have to a psychedelic technicolor dreamcoat.

Though the patina on Chinese coins can be quite colorful.
