Probably not the best way to go, but i want to start my gold part of my investing
asap, and something always comes up when i try and save the cash, so i am going
to try it this way, but the premiums charged by most brokers is very high :( i know
they get charged as well but $45-$55 premium seems excessive to me, just wanted
To see if there was a place that charges less.

The added "premium" is covering the additional credit card charge the vendor pays to accept a credit card payment. You can save some by using BitCoin, and additional by sending cash/check.

The CC companies typically get 3 or 4 percent from the merchants, so that's pretty much what you can expect to be passed along to you.

Even if you use PayPal and fund the PP payment with your credit card, their fee of 2.9 percent would amount to $36.

Never use a credit card to buy PMs, even if you plan on paying the full balance. If you don't have the cash you have no business buying. A wire is cheaper if you are in a hurry but a check works if you are willing to wait for it to clear.

What a ridiculous statement. I have purchased thousands of oz of PMs with a credit card. And then payed it off. AND gotten rewards, bonus points, cash back, etc. I'm not trying to pick on you bud, but you make these broad declarative statements that aren't just wrong, they are also silly.

So, you buy $10K of PM, pay $300 extra to use a credit card and get $100 back. Sounds like a great deal to me. Of courses, numbers may vary depending on your card but you are never going to get back the extra you pay. If you did then the credit card companies would lose money.

    I stand by my statement.

I do that with some silver. What's a little interest when you love the coin. I plan to hold them and admire them. At least I have them in hand which is a good accomplishment and investment down the line, even though they cost a little extra with the interest applied. Heck, what's money anyway? Should be spent in some ways to make you happy.

There are plenty of 1.5%-2% cards with sign up bonuses of 100-200. So you could spend 10,000 with check or you could do 10,300 with card and get 206 rewards plus 100 bonus and have the extra protections of the card. Seems like the card wins there.

Also, one can check the ebay daily deals section and find gold from $5 over spot (bar) to $30 over spot (Eagle, Buffalo, Krugerrand, etc). This is credit card pricing and is often cheaper than many websites offer for payment by check.
