I had a long sit down with my local guy when i was there to buy some more GOLD on Saturday, GOLD buyers are still out in front of the sellers by 10-15% which is a good formula for stable and the price adjusting up However SILVER is a different animal, he,s personally seeing a increase in sellers versus buyers and as prices creep up the dealers and refiners start getting nervous, when that happens they stop taking in most SILVER or charge huge buy back premiums at a time when the price was over $100 the by back was minus $12.50 per OZ but look at numbers like that to return if the price goes in to tripple digits.
I'm personally seeing more gold buying vs silver buying. There's a lot of uncertainty with silver lately. One day prices are almost $70 the next close to $60.
I think that,s par for the course, there,s just more value in GOLD, wat more though i have bought SILVER to get GOLD, will start buying 1/10 eagles to get me to the 1 OZ price point.
If you can swing it, would recommend GOLD, maybe a 1/10 once eagle which is an excellent choice or some small gram bars.
I concur. I'm seeing the general consensus being to buy fractional for now. Yes the premiums are higher but you can still get it cheaper than a 1 oz.
I just did another trade up on my 1/10 OZ GOLD hoard. I actually prefer the really large bars heres my 5 OZ APMEX and my 10 OZ Camp branded bar and probably have another 18 or so 1 OZ bars a 50 Gr. Pamp bar and a mixture of Krugers and Eagles along with some proofs, looking right now to trade up to a kilo or 100 gr or half kilo but none of the local dealers tell me there just sent back to the refiners because of the current prices, would go the e.bay route but I refuse to be taxed I live in Nevada a no tax state on PM,S.
I'm experiencing a weird obsession with the Mexican 50 Peso gold coin. As well the Euro-Sovs have my attention. Most of all the Austrian 100 Corona gold coin. I still like my silver but the price fluctuations are starting to get to me. I love coins, in fact I'm a hopeless coin-o-holic. But lately Ive been adding to my stack rounds and bars due to their lower prices. I love 90% junk and to think a single dime holds $5 in silver is terrific but what good is it if you can't sell it or lose on it because the market is flooded ?
I really like the 50 peso gold. Have a few, and 1.2 Toz feels great in hand. I have silver, and 90% too. Silver is boring to watch the $2 daily fluctuations and swoon or depress over it. It is so dependent on Gold. That is why it seems Silver is dependent on the GSR. However, from the perspective of Gold, I really do not get excited or really care about GSR. That is why Gold is king in my book. Besides, it is a much prettier metal, does not tarnish, shines really well, virtually no maintenance, no need for silly gloves to handle, and it is GOLD. I do not worry about 90%. If it is not melted now, and if all the players say Silver is in short supply due to tech and industrial, then 90% will have its day when they wake up to the Silver that is in them. I feel Buy-to-hold, and stop worrying about day to day fluctuations. Or, I just get out of investing in them. The markets have built this high strung mentality of watching stock, precious metals, bonds, etc. on a daily, hourly, minute, or even seconds basis. Tangible Assets are for longer term in my book. Nothing has value until sold. Otherwise, it is just anxiety news to be controlled by the narrative. NEXT!
I like larger amounts, have had a half kilo of GOLD on order ( 500gr ) bar for almost forever and that,s with two different dealers, however they tell me larger quantities just get turned back around to the refiner ;( would buy on ebay but with premium plus tax, it,s like almost paying for an additional once, and that,s just a waste !!
