Long-time collector of antique stock certificates and bonds here, primarily European material — French industrials, Swiss railways, Bulgarian mining companies, American railroad bonds. Curious if there are other scripophily collectors on this forum. It seems like a natural overlap with paper money collecting but I rarely see it discussed here. Happy to share pieces, talk valuation, or discuss the history behind the certificates. What's your experience with this niche? https://scripotime.com/
Never heard of this before. It looks like an interesting niche though. What's the oldest generally available? I know the early East India companies issued stock but I'm not sure whether or not they printed paper certificates.
Over the years I've picked up many old stock certificates. I haven't considered myself a collector of those yet but more of an accumulator.
I have around two dozen bonds. I collect the ones with interesting vignettes. I scan them with a high-resolution scanner, cut them out and mount them in little frames as wall art. Sorry, no pictures, I sold them all.
I have 5 old train stocks with amazing colors, just have to find them as they have survived 3 different moves..LOL
