I sometimes wonder if the "reasons" precious metals go up or down, are reasons at all. Maybe they're just stories to help us feel like we know what happened? Or maybe even a false answer? After all, if you think you know the "answer" to a question, why would you look for another?

 

Making up stories to explain why things happen might be the oldest, and most human, of human activities.

 

Agreed. It is why there are “Reality TV” governments and echo chambers.

Long term: In gold, I watch the Central Bank movements. Silver, albeit becoming more industrial, still lives with the GSR, because of the sentiment that it is a denomination of Gold.

Speculation has been taken out of the equation with the interest rates expected to increase. Getting close to the supply/demand price. Demand will increase when the Middle East adventure is over. Supply won’t increase much in my lifetime
I’m looking to buy as silver drops but not yet
