Dealers say the AGE, ML, and KR are the 3 they will buy the most because there are always buyers for them.

Still would like to (re-buy) a Panda and get a full ounc Libertad. Had a Philharmonic years ago....sold it....the biz strike looked pretty blase....maybe they make proofs which shine a bit more ?

Hey, I didn't know the UK had elected Bernie Sanders as Prime Minister !! :D:D

I sympathize with you Dafydd and hope you enjoy coins to take your mind off the taxes. I like the Brittanica design but I don't have any gold ones, just silver with the Queen on the reverse, not Charles. I'll have to add that to my BuyList after I get a few of my Saints and Liberty's that are higher on my pecking order but I do want to re-buy a Panda, get a Libertad, and a Mexican Peso just to have one of each major gold coin country.

BTW, I subscribe to the UK Telegraph because I like their Business/Economics section and read Ambrose Evans-Pritchard for his insights even when I think he's way off. Was early on noting CB purchases of gold.

As a so called Krugerrand expert  i 100% agree, have seen many videos on there manufacturing plant and how they do things but there goal is to produce as many coins as possible on any given run, there for quality isnt a top priority thats what makes this MS70 so special:doctor:

I think the decision to no longer release mintage,s has geo-political implications written all over it, its a shame however to collectors like me
thats why i buy immediatley the second a new year is released because you never know how rare that year is going to be.

They could be tough to sell in a pinch but I also like off-the-tracks limited mintage coins like those from Perth Mint and even the Vatican 1960's coins.

Not bullion coins unless in a low grade but worth having alongside if you like the design and history and the premiums are reasonable.

Also some coins like the Buffalo look good in Reverse Proof.

i,am for sure a fan of proof coins have several, the ones i have on hand. the first is a 1987-W AGE which is the year i got married the second is a 2001-W AGE the year my daughter was born, Krugerrands for those years especially th 01 which had a mintage of only 33,406 which is ultra low, good luck finding one of those, the 87 only 99,798 when you compare years like 1982 2,669,000 which is the year my oldest son was born you can see the population differences, also have a SP70
Burnished AGE, technically not a proof but a beautiful coin.

Why is the Mint producing "burnished" finishes -- are collectors demanding it ?
