    Hi,
Attached are pictures of my 1899-O Morgan with an "O" that looks a bit different from the others I have. Generally, my other 1899-O's are a little bit larger, a little bit more elongated and a little bit more out in the open between the bottom of the wreath and the "D" and "O" in DOLLAR. This "O" seems a little bit "smooshed up" and closer to the bottom of the wreath. I've looked at pictures of the micro O on PCGS and other sites and I can convince myself that its normal and I can convince myself that it's a micro.

I'd be interested in the opinions of those who have a better eye for this than I do. Of course, this the worst example of an 1899-O that I have. Oh well.

    Thanks!!!

The photos get blurry when I try to enlarge them. There appears to be something on the lower right side of the O mint mark but it’s too blurry to make it out. I do not know of a micro O for this year. Can you please repost clearer photos of the mint mark?

As I explained in the pm it does appear to be the micro O variety. Nice pickup.
And thanks for the pm. :)

To me, it looks like the 2nd coin/photo is magnified much more that the first one. Hard to tell unless both photos have the same magnification.

Agree. But, on the other hand, that mintmark does not look normal size. I am also inclined to agree with @Collecting Nut that it is indeed a micro-O.

With the latent grime inside and around the mintmark, I don’t perceive anything else going on around it…Spark

The enlargement of the photos are much clearer than the first set, which was worse after I tried to make it larger enough to see. My phone is all I have and that doesn’t always work. :)

I would say it's the regular O. Compare the size of O with the size of the space between the D and ribbon.
