My son has been looking for ways to earn money outside of his job and I think he may have landed on something here. He works at a plant and they pull lost jewelry out of their pumps regularly. If nobody claims it, they keep it……. So the boy bought himself a little crucible and a torch and taught himself how to add chemicals that will draw away impurities. I donated a handful of silver foreign coins I had no interest in and he came up with some silver marbles. Cool enough……. Since then he discovered he can buy bags of old jewelry from Goodwill for ten bucks a bag. Most is junk but he has gotten lucky with a few and now has himself a dime size lump of 14k gold. The boy just might be onto something!
I vote your son for Fruit Jar Chemist of the Year award. I got the award one time back in the 60's and it was a great honor.
