1944-D/D Jefferson War Nickel GEM BU (RPM-002)(VP-003)

    This coin comes from a war nickel set that was housed in a white capital plastics holder on eBay. The seller described the coins as full steps and some of them, like this one are. Unfortunately, several of the coins look as though they have been dipped, lightly cleaned, or both. This one looks okay.

    This coin and the 1945-D are full step RPMs that I will be submitting to NGC. I grade this one MS66 5FS VP-003.

    While that coin does look very nice, what are those yellow spots in the top center around the D mm and on the O at 5 o'clock?
    Is it a normal "toning" or is it some kind of dip after wash spotting?
