    Yeah, that one really needs some serious TLC, but even then it may not improve its’ attractiveness.

    Agreed. I don’t give a coin like that a second glance. This is where the term, “buy the coin, not the holder”, really comes into play.

    There IS a tiny bit of color in those black splotches. A tiny bit. Not remotely enough to be redeeming.

    Not really valuable enough to warrant professional conservation. Wonder why it was graded in the first place. Maybe thought it would come back MS67. Or maybe thought NGC could make it look nicer and found out differently.
