Same! Even though it was 16 degrees out I had to get the salt off the old Jeep; only took about 2 hours for my hands to thaw out after using the local self service power wash!

And yes, my doors froze shut within the 5 minutes it took me to get home!

Great big drops today. Guess people need to free up cash to cover their oil and LNG bills.

Just profit taking. It’s a shame they can’t see what’s really happening or going to happen.

Yep, just came back to check in and say I've got egg on my face so far this week. lol No rhyme or reason to this market. There's no explanation for the price of silver to be dropping. Miners are taking a big hit on relatively small drop again. If silver drops to $50 I guess I'll be like the Monopoly man with my pockets inside out by that point. Miners will be back in the .50 range people panic so bad.

Let it keep dropping. I'll just look for more.

The silver price dropped from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz news, which meant a potential slowdown of global trade and spiking oil prices. Now the news headlines suggest there will be military escorts and insurance offered to tankers, but in any case it looks like a big mess (glad I am not in charge and responsible for undoing this). Silver shows once again it is a solid leading indicator of global economic trends.

    Do YOU like 'em ?

If so, then buy 'em....they may or may not turn out to be a good investment (probably not if silver goes alot higher)....but for $10....who cares, right ?

And FWIW...can you tell the difference between the 69 and the 70 ? :D

I think this is a matter of personal preference. If your goal is to have a liquid store of value, then it's best to buy unslabbed ASEs or slabbed ASEs if they sell at or near melt value. If you are a collector and don't expect a return on investment, then you can buy the slabbed coins*. From what I can tell, you value liquidity, in which case I might not go the slabbed ASE route.

*I think also the slabbed coins are a type of put. So if the silver price drops sharply, there might be collectors in the future who'll pay a premium for them. Maybe - not guaranteed.

    This roller coaster is crazy.

Just read this about India disconnecting from western PM pricing.
    https://www.investing.com/news/comm...valuation-rules-for-mutual-funds-93CH-4527063

    excerpt:
India’s Securities and Exchange Board directed mutual funds to use domestic stock exchange spot prices to value their physical gold and silver holdings from April 1, 2026.

The regulator said on Thursday that mutual funds may now use polled spot prices from recognized stock exchanges that settle physically delivered gold and silver derivatives contracts, ensuring that valuations reflect domestic market conditions.

The change moves away from the currently used London Bullion Market Association prices to arrive at the valuation of gold and silver held by exchange traded funds.

masterswimmer A Caretaker, can't take it with me

    TL;DR that article.

My bet is the following. India is attempting to manipulate their own domestic silver market. Beginning April, 2026 they are going to permit their citizens to use stored silver as collateral for loans issued by Indian banks.

Apparently Indian nationals have vast amounts of silver in religious artifacts and jewelry sitting in homes that the government wants to get their hands on. We know silver demand is skyrocketing, and they're counting on the loan default rate to skyrocket too. The penalty? Relinquishing the collateralized silver at ridiculously low spot prices controlled by their domestic exchange boards. A form of confiscation......IMO.

From my understanding, India is rooted in gold and silver in their culture.
I wonder if that has changed any perceptions since PMs have rocketed up in valuation.
But I can see how that can now be used for collateral.
